And the Battle Begins!
"Ladies and Gentleman, and children if all ages, Welcome to the Skyvane Tag Battle Tournament!" Cried the fancily dressed announcer into his microphone, "All of the battles will take place on the standard field before us. And now introducing the competitors in the first match, put your hands together for Elaine Rockwood and Jasper Brækken on the red side, foollowed by Sam Lock and Martini Blackburn on the blue side!" the announcer finished as applause rang out for the two teams as they came out of the waiting rooms.

. o O ( Okay, for a posting order, I think it should be me, then Markus Ironwood, then Jasper Braekken, then Martini Blackburn. Keeps things meshed well together, and keeps us separated from our partners posts. )
She was standing in the waiting room, glancing toward Jasper. It was so weird how they had gotten into this together. It seemed like just yesterday they hardly knew each other, and now they were practically best friends. Forced best friends, it felt. But, there was a prize for this tournament. Something that Faydra would not mind owning. Whatever the prize was, though, had slipped her mind.
She was too ready to battle this out. She could smell fresh chalk being laid out on the dirt field, and then she heard the announcer come on the mic.
"... ELAINE ROCKWOOD!..."
"Elaine..? My name is Faydra! Fay-druh!" frustrated, she pushed passed Jasper and marched out to throw a punch square into the Announcers face as they passed each other in the hall. "My name is Faydra! Fay. Druh!" She stood over the announcer for a moment, and then huffed passed him. With out even blinking an eye, she cracked her knuckles and stepped out into the light of the stadium. It was a very low-key stadium, but one nonetheless.
The crowd that gathered was small, but dedicated to this evening. It was time for things to begin.
She stepped up onto the red side, and as she did, she was tossing her Ultraball up into the air and catching it as it fell.
"I guess it's me and you," she said, flashing a sly grin while she stared at her opponent.
"Gastly! I choose you!" she demanded as she tossed her Pokéball up. It opened and Gastly appeared, letting out a screech of delight.
"Let's win, Gastly. Me and you," she said, pulling her hair back and up into a ponytail. She peeled the hair tie from around of her wrist and laced her hair back, her bandanna still on her head. Grinning, she waited for her opponent to make their move.
It was time.

Re: And the Battle Begins!
(( I have been asked to replace Woody in this tournament now, I assume it is because they have been absent for a short time and not posted, good luck guys ^_^))
Sam had found a vacant couch and laid down on top of it longways, Growly had hopped onto his chest and sat down, Sam was ruffling his fur as they both relaxed there, Sam was probably more nervous that Growly was, he had only been a Pokémon trainer for a short time and he had thrown himself into a tag team tournament without any proper training, something that he wished he would have done previously. Sam was a confident guy, he would have had a conversation with the other three people in the room with him, but everyone seemed to keep themselves to themselves, even when they were supposed to be two teams, everyone seemed to just be psyching themselves up for the match, its a shame though as Sam would have liked to know more about the person he was teaming with and the people he was about to face. The announcer's voice shot into the room as he began the grand occasion, the winner of the tournament would get a mysterious egg and the runner up would receive a power stone of their choosing, something that Sam could use for his Growly. The announcer introduced all of the combatants, Sam looked to Growly who was still resting on his chest, he made a head movement to the side, asking him to move off, which Growly did, he hopped to the ground and allowed Sam to stand up, Sam then leaned down and Growly hopped up to his shoulder as they walked towards the light at the end of the tunnel. All four contestants exited the tunnel and was met by a wall of applause and cheering, it caught Sam by surprise, but he pulled his collar up and confidentally walked to his side, he noticed the girl on the opposing team stepping up to the announcer, apparently they had called her by a different name, something like that could rock someones confidence and Sam kinda hoped that it did, it would make his life a lot easier anyway.
Sam stood up to the field and waited for Growly to leap off of his shoulders and landed on it, dust flying into the air as he hit the ground. He looked to his right at his partner, someone he had yet to talk to and extended a hand of respect and a sign of trust.

Re: And the Battle Begins!
Everyone had been anticipating and pacing back and forth like they were nervous. Except for Jasper, he was calm and ready to take charge. Even if his team had lost, it would be experience under his belt. He knew that Faydra and himself have made a good team due to their past differences, yes, they were "frienemies" but, they both strive for the same goal.. To be Pokemon Masters.
"Elaine Rockwood!" the announcer yelled.
Jasper let out a small chuckle because he knew someone was about to get demolished by Faydra. He knew her far too well and what pushed her buttons due to the fact that he has had his far share of bloody noses and black eyes.
*THOWMP* as faydra cocked her fist back and lunged at the mans face knocking him unconscious leaving little stars and birds flying above his head.
Jasper had started out towards the field gripping his backpack strap with his left hand getting himself ready for what was to come.
He saw faydra toss her pokeball up into the air calling upon her gastly, as she was summoned from her slumber. A shriek of readiness came from the floating menace.
Jasper looked up to the sky and rubbed on his moon necklace for a bit of good luck, even though he knew faydra and himself would most likely have this in the bag.
Reaching to the right side of his hip, he detached vulpixs' friend ball and clicked the center of it as it enlarged. "Vulpix, get ready to lead us to victory!" he yelled as he threw the ball releasing her from the containment. Once out of her ball she shook her well groomed fur and glistened in the sunlight. She soaked up the sun as Drought came into effect.
*The sun shined brighter*
He took stand behind of faydra as he glanced at her. He always teased her about her eye but it is what made her.. well her. He secretly was jealous that someone with such an awesome feature and wondered why she would try and hide it. As he narrowed his eyes due to the suns brightness he noticed the other team taking stand. He noticed one of them had a growlithe and figured he would try to lower it's defense first due to the fact that it was a fire pokemon.. same as vulpix so Ember would probably take no effect what-so-ever.
Jasper stayed calm and waited to see what the other trainer had up their sleeve.
He did however lift his hand up and waved across the field to the others.
"Good luck and let's have some fun!" he shouted to the others.

Re: And the Battle Begins!
Martini still had no clear or concise reason why she had actually joined the tournament. Battling was of little interest to her and the spectacle of it all usually dried up like an overcooked fish patty, something which never failed to amuse the girl. The only conceivable reason why the strawberry blonde thief had joined was the prize, yes the big reward for winning the silly little battle. Was it gold? Some people said it was but the general consensus stated that it was more than likely a Pokemon of some sort. This didn't bother her one bit, even if she lost there would be time to snoop around later and snatch some goodies whilst everyone was celebrating. The very thought of it all made her smirk.
She was standing against a wall in the pastel waiting room, idly staring out a window at a flock of spearows flying overhead. The view must of been nice from up there, she knew that weather was going to be great but then again that wasn't something she put too much thought into. She had come to gauge her surroundings and scrutinise just who she had been dragged into this tournament with. Two boys and another girl. Well at least things were balanced on the gender part, something which cracked a grin across the girl's thin lips.
Red beads adorned her neck, shimmering under the pale golden glow of the sun...almost glistening with an aura of their own. In actual fact the necklace just happened to be Misdreavus, all snugged up and content hiding in her master's chic clothing. The little ghost would occasionally giggle or shudder against the base of Martini's slender throat, often alerting the girl to items worth snatching.
"Soon cutie, soon. Just wait till we beat some people okay?", Martini quietly cooed, brushing her fingers against the necklace before perking her head up to listen to the announcements.
So the announcer was clearly a rookie, getting someone's name wrong? Martini would expect that in at a beauty pageant not a mid tier tournament. A stray giggle escaped her necklace and soon enough she heard the familiar syllables of her name get announced over the mic. Of course, saving the best for last. Taking in one last deep breath the girl stretched her arms and strutted onto the field after the other three. Giving the audience a brief smirk before taking place near the mysterious boy with the growlithe. Cute, what was he? An officer Jenny fan?
Rolling her eyes she gave the duo on the other side brief glances. A vulpix and a gastly, interesting. The boy and girl clearly knew each other so they had that advantage over Martini and the wannabe police officer. But the thief only gave it passing notice, putting on her sunglasses before tapping the very edge of the red beads.
"Time to play sweetie!", she smiled, taking a step back as the adorable little ghost assumed shape right in front of her. Misdreavus' form flickered with a dark energy, the eerie giggles leaking into the air like a echoey music box. Such a beautiful sound it was, well to Martini anyway. Turning towards her partner she offered him a flat gaze, sizing him up before placing a mint in his hand.
"Keep it fresh buddy. Don't embarrass me either", she smirked, rolling her eyes underneath the shades before urging her cuddly little ghost forward."Let's do this!"

Re: And the Battle Begins!
"This is a tag team match! So who's going against me first?!" she asked, standing proud with her feet shoulder width apart. It didn't take long to pick her opponent. It was obvious to go against the Growlithe. He had stepped out first, so she would battle it off against this guy and his cute little fire type. It would also put Gastly at a slight advantage. Slight being that Gastly was not going to have to fight the Misdreavus. Faydra feared for her poor Gastly if they did bump heads. She was sure to lose if they did not play it smart.
"Gastly, go for Growlithe! It's me versus you, buddy!" she pointed directly at Sam, a sly grin crossing her features while she let her bangs keep her eye hidden. It was too bright to keep them back, and she had confidence not to need her full field of vision for now.
Gastly was moving in with her tongue hanging out of her mouth. She was going for a lick, just as they had practiced.

Re: And the Battle Begins!
Sam clicked his knuckles as he sent Growlithe ahead into battle, he pulled an earphone that was connected to his iPod from his pocket and he slotted it into his left ear so he would still be able to hear his partner. Sam has years of Pokémon research under his belt, that is why he was such a late bloomer on the Pokémon trainer front. "Alright Growly let's see if this thing is flammable, try and dodge underneath its tongue and ember upwards!" With Growlithe being under the laws of gravity, his best bet was to stay as low as possible if the Gastly remained in the air. Growly darted forward, both Pokémon were running head to head as the crowd around them began to make some noise, they know this meant the start of a great battle and the fact that both Pokémon were running straight towards each other gave cause for concern. As Growly began to run forward, Sam tried to study the girl who the Gastly belonged to, she did not seem too unorthodox, she seemed to want to win this tournament just as much as he did, but he did notice one of her eyes was hidden from view, Sam began to speculate why this was, but he planned to use her obscured vision to his advantage in the future.
Growly and Gastly were about to collide, Gastly's tongue swang like a pendulum as it tickled Growly's fur, he managed to get low enough to the ground to narrowly avoid it, Growly shot some small embers up and it landed on the underbelly of the the Gastly, but it seemed to only cause a minor inconvenience, Sam would need a new plan.

Re: And the Battle Begins!
As jasper sat back and watched the first two go at it ferociously. He had noticed the other member he was facing. Martini if he had heard correctly, knowing the announcer he would've said her name wrong. She did have a misdreavus suddenly appear from her clothing. This was quite weird for jasper but what was normal now-a-days? Seeing as this battle was going to be tough for him and vulpix, both opponents had resistance to vulpixs attacks. He knew he would have to outsmart them or at least try to. It was just a bad set up for him.
Wiping the sweat from his brow due to the Drought he faintly saw Martini give her partner something small and white.
Jasper shrugged it off, what could he do about it anyway. Tattle-tail? That wasn't his style.
"My teacher always told me if you bring snacks, BRING ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE!" taunting his opponents.
Maybe he could just throw out weird sayings and throw them off balance with one another. They seemed like they didn't know each other very well. Which was odd for jasper because he felt teams did a lot better with knowing what your partner is going to do and how they will react in the moment.
Watching as growlithe slide under gastlys tongue belching a ember that would hit gastly if it did not react quickly.
All jasper could do was wait but, he was cool with it, it gave him more time to think of ways to get into their heads and mess their game up.
